The Skaneateles Boat Show has grown in popularity over the years. It started in 1978 with a dozen boats and the organizers say this years show could bring as many as 90 boats. It is held in Clift Park on the north shore of Skaneateles Lake. The site is in the center of town, convenient to many shops and restaurants.
Visitors will find an exhibit of forty-four antique and classic boats in the water and 45-50 land displays. In addition to exhibitors from the Central New York area, various parts of the country, NJ, Ohio, Michigan, SC, and Canada are a few areas represented.
The weekend promises to provide something for everyone. There is a Ship’s Store with nautical merchandise, the Syracuse Model Boat Club with a collection of boats, Saturday afternoon boat parade, children’s activities, Junior Judging, raffle baskets, historic tours of the town and continuous music throughout the weekend. Sunday morning there is a photo shoot opportunity on the Mid-Lakes Navigation’s tour boat the “Judge Ben Wiles” with many exhibitor boats circling the “Judge” at speed.
